The profile of the adjacent house was determinative for the appearance of this residence in a Diepenbeek subdivision. The compact residence presents itself as a closed entity to the busy road. The front door opens to a closed outdoor space: a wall shields this zone from the street. A large window in the living space also looks out on this patio and thus enjoys daylight. At the same time, there is a visual control of the entrance area. A projecting band window interrupts the closed appearance of the front aspect.
The simple form language and the careful choice of materials made it possible to realize the residence within a strict budget. Yet there was room for carefully worked out detailing, space and comfort.
